A TOP electronic music company has made its first musical tour stop at an Alcester school.

Roland UK, who design, manufacture and distribute electronic musical instruments, got the first leg of their Roland Road Show tour off the ground last week at Alcester High.

Children and teachers had the chance to see a concert of modern contemporary music and watch live musicians in action.

They were also given the unique chance to get some hands-on experience with some of the newest instruments on the market.

Educational director for the company David Barnard said it had been an enjoyable day for pupils, teachers and themselves.

He added: "Judging by the reaction of the children, they had a good time."

This was the first of about 30 schools they will be touring to over the next year and Alcester High was chosen as its first due to the close links its music department has with the company.
