A RESPECTED fine art valuer and auctioneer who worked for Halls in Kidderminster has been killed in a road accident.
Richard Allen, 56, died when his BMW motorbike was involved in a collision with a Land Rover close to his home in Ditton Priors, near Bridgnorth, on Thursday last week.
Mr Allen, leaves a wife, Sarah and three daughters, Antonia, Charlotte and Annabel.
Athough based in Shrewsbury, Mr Allen, who joined the Halls in 1992, would regularly meet clients and value fine art at the firm's office in Franche Road, Kidderminster.
Previously, he had worked at Sotheby's in London for 22 years, where he was a board director and had also built up a reputation valuing portrait miniatures.
Roger Saddler, who worked with Mr Allen in Kidderminster, said: "It has been a significant shock to us all.
"Richard was extremely well loved by a lot of people locally. His experience was recognised locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. It is a great loss to us all."
