OUTDOOR adventurers from Cleobury Mortimer have narrowly missed out on a place in the final of a national competition.
The team of eight students from Lacon Childe School were highly commended by the judges when they took part in a regional heat of the Kielder Challenge.
The event, which is for 13 to 16-year-olds, aims to encourage teamwork and communication and includes practical problems, such as negotiating a rope maze.
Lacon Childe's team was one of 250 taking part in regional heats.
