SUMMER holidays need not be dull this year with a number of summer courses at the Malvern Theatres.
The fun begins this month with a Rambert Dance course from Monday, July 31 to Friday, August 4.
Open to youngsters aged 11 to 13 years from 10am to 1pm each day and ages 14 upwards from 2pm until 5pm each day, the session is an opportunity for young people to work with artists Rambert Theatre Company.
Rambert is the oldest dance company in Britain and celebrates it 80th year this year.
The summer school will include a daily contemporary dance class to develop dance skills and fitness levels as well as the opportunity to learn sections of constant speed and to create and perform their own work.
If musical theatre is more your thing, then journey through the stories of Dr Seuss in a magical workshop of the new musical Suessical and create the characters of The Cat in the Hat, The Grinch and The Whos amongst many others.
With the wonderful new songs and exciting routines, work with a West End director, choreographer and performers (Les Miserables, Chess, Evita) in an original and unique workshop experience.
The musical theatre workshop starts on Monday, August 7 to Friday, August 11 from 9.30am until 1pm for eight to 13-year-olds and from 2pm to 5pm for 14-year-olds onwards.
Finally, take part in a Play in a Week, an opportunity for 11 to 18-year-olds to develop a play in a week working with Malvern Theatre Players. Involving intensive rehearsals and culminating in two public performances all held at the Coach House Theatre.
Auditions begin on Sunday, August 13 at 2.30pm with rehearsals starting on Monday, August 14 until Friday, August 19 from 10am until 5pm.
The performances will take place on Saturday, August 19 at 2.30pm and 7pm.
