GENEROUS householders in Kidderminster, Cookley and Wolverley have donated more than £6,000 to help the world's poorest people as part of Christian Aid Week.
The door-to-door collection, which raised £6,440, was organised by a committee of Churches Together In Kidderminster and a team of volunteers delivered and collected the envelopes.
Main organiser, Peter Grantham, whose own area of Greenhill raised a record £1,300 plus, thanked all those who contributed and those who gave up their time to help with the collection.
"It is getting harder each year because the churches' congregations are getting older," he said.
"We would love to hear from younger people who would be willing to help next year. It's not a huge task and I can find areas anywhere in Kidderminster for people to deliver and collect the envelopes."
