DIRTY streets have been tackled as part of a Kidderminster councillor's bid to keep the town clean and tidy.
Residents in Wood Street had their road cleansed by Wyre Forest District Council's Streetscene department after they complained about litter and weeds along the highway.
Sutton Park ward councillor, Marcus Hart, the council's cabinet member responsible for commercial services, ensured the clear-up operation took place in the area.
He said: "I have had the issue of street cleansing raised to me by several residents recently and, as the local ward councillor, I was anxious that something be done to address these concerns.
"I know that our Streetscene operatives work hard across the whole of Wyre Forest but it is often difficult to cleanse built-up areas when cars are parked.
"Over the past couple of weeks, the department has been blitzing other built-up areas to ensure that residents continue to have clean streets."
"As an administration, we take street cleansing issues very seriously."
