THE sun might be shining but it is the colours of the plentiful flower arrangements that are making Pershore look more picturesque than ever this month.
It is all in aid of Pershore in Bloom, where businesses, residents, schools and just about anyone else in the town is encouraged to put together an arrangement to spruce up the town during the summer months.
Having impressed the Britain in Bloom judges last year when the judges gave the town a bronze medal, it is hoped that this year they can go one better and achieve a silver medal.
The two judges were due in town yesterday to take a trip around Pershore, starting at Pershore College, before looking around Roland Rutter Court, Holy Redeemer School, Hopscotch Nursery, Heathlands retirement home and onto Whitcroft Road.
Jill Liley, of the Pershore in Bloom committee, said: "I would like to thank everybody who got involved and especially Pershore College who have been so helpful in putting up and watering our baskets next to the signs for Pershore, near the bridge.
"This competition is great for bringing the town together and makes the town look very nice. It is also great for the youngsters in the town who we also encourage to get involved."
