MEMBERS of the public are being given the chance to say what crimes police should tackle as priorities.

West Mercia Constabulary is inviting people to say what most concerns them in crime and disorder in a survey being carried out by the force, together with Wyre Forest Crime and Disorder Partnership - CDRP - and West Mercia Police Authority.

Opinions are being sought on a range of issues, including personal experience of police services and reporting crime and how residents are informed about crime matters.

Police spokeswoman, Elena Greaves, said: "The results of the survey will be used to help improve the services we deliver together with our partners, focusing on local needs and expectations.

"Sending out this type of survey is not a new venture for either the police or the local CDRPs. We are keen to emphasise the opportunity that this survey provides, in terms of helping to shape the way communities are policed and how local crime and disorder issues are tackled.

"In the past, we have received lots of feedback and, this time, we are concentrating on gathering people's opinions and experiences with a distinct focus on community policing issues and local needs."

The survey can also be filled out online, at www.priority-research.com/westmercia

All completed surveys will be entered into a prize draw with prizes of up to £100.
