STAFF from Bretforton First School are celebrating this week after a successful Ofsted report for the school, which was described by officers as 'a good school providing good value for money'.
Ofsted inspectors carried out the inspection in May and found through good leadership by the head, pupils made good progress in reception which is later built on in year one and year five.
They praised pupils personal development which was described as very good with youngsters showing a positive attitude towards work.
The report said: "Teachers often successfully match pupil's work to their wide range of attainment although there are a few inconsistencies in how well they do this in writing. Improvement in writing standards are needed by consistently matching writing activities to the needs of those pupils who are working above or below the expected level for their age."
However, despite progress made by staff to improve pupils standards at the New Street, Evesham school, improvement was still needed in standards of writing.
Headteacher Ayse Moseley said: "We're pleased with the report. Although standards in writing are average we're aware that writing is a national issue and have steps in place to address this. School is like one big family so it was great to see these aspects recognised in the report."
