A BROADWAY man used his father's bank card to buy a £39,000 Land Rover so he could keep up his image with associates.
Darrell Keen, 23, of Field Lane, pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court to obtaining the Land Rover Freelander from the Guy Salmon dealership by deception.
The court was told he wanted the vehicle to maintain his image with the professional rugby players from Gloucester Rugby Club with whom he socialised in Cheltenham.
Keen had gone to the premises in Stratford shortly before last Christmas and persuaded the salesman that his father had agreed to buy the vehicle for him. He returned the following day with a man who posed as his father.
The deception was supported by Keen's father's driving licence and bank card.
At a hearing on Monday, sentencing was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
