WE write in response to Mrs J Ravenscroft's letter (School held back £50,000, Shuttle/Times & News, July 13).
This financial matter was raised by Mrs Ravenscroft at the Far Forest school's AGM last November and was addressed by the school governors at that time.
We are dismayed to find that again the school is under scrutiny when all the parents were offered the opportunity to examine the school accounts and approach any of the governors if they still had concerns.
In fact, the school didn't have the £50,000 at the start of the academic year 2005/2006.
In regard to the class size, we agree it is larger than would be ideal for parents, children and teachers alike.
This is due to eight children joining the school during the school year, of which four went into the class concerned.
The teachers of this class have successfully provided high quality education and maintained class discipline under difficult circumstances.
We have a child in that class and have no complaints regarding the quality of education, care and support on offer.
Far Forest School is an excellent small village school which deserves parents' support and if any parent is concerned about aspects of education on offer there we suggest that they look elsewhere.
They will be disappointed!
