BOTH Tenbury First and Second elevens had the misfortune of being on top in each of their matches only to see their games against Old Vigornians hit by rain.

For the first team in their away game, Jay Da Costa won the toss and again chose to field. Despite an expensive first over, Ben Thompson fought back to remove the Vigornians' opener.

Tenbury took control in the eighth over when Tom Rawlings came into the attack on 35 for two after a smart catch from Bob Felce.

As grey skies gathered above, the former King's School batsman began to step up the run rate.

Mo Munir chipped in with two wickets before the heavens opened with Tenbury in a very strong position having Old Vigorians at 108 for 4 off 24 overs when rain stopped play.

The Seconds came away with six points, to old Vigorians' five.

On home ground, Tenbury Seconds lost the toss and were asked to bat by Old Vigornians Seconds.

Openers Chris Giles and Alan Taylor got the home side off to a great start, putting on 68 for the first wicket until Giles was caught for 43. Taylor soon followed for 33.

However, captain Paul Murphy (43) and James Harrison (41) put together a good partnership and Tenbury finished on 238 all out after their allocated 45 overs.

A thunderstorm then intervened and each side took nine points.

Both Tenbury teams will be looking for wins agains Himbleton on Saturday with the first team at home.
