GARDENING CLUB - On May 24, speaker John Snocken from Bridgnorth gave a talk on 'Florists' Flowers'. On June 28, speaker Linda Eggins from Clent gave a talk with plants on ivies in the garden. It was also the club's rose and sweet pea show. There was a good display of entries. The winners were first Bob Marriott, second Gladys Stott and third Marion Wilson. The best exhibit winner was Bob Marriott.
Saturday, August 19 is the date of the Summer Garden Show. Schedules will be available from club meetings or Clows Top Post Office. The show opens at 2pm, all proceeds to the County Air Ambulance.
On Wednesday, August 23, speakers Yvonne Mort and Pauline Blackburn from Newton will give a talk on flower pressing.
The club meets on the fourth Wednesday in the calendar month at Clows Top Victory Hall. Doors open 7.30pm, for the speaker at 8pm. There will be refreshments, a raffle and a plant stall.
