SIR - Unfortunately at the end of May, our 18-month-old grandson was taken ill with pneumococcal meningitis.
He was admitted to Worcester Royal Hospital and unfortunately after 24 hours they had no intensive care available so he was transferred to the University Hospital of North Staffs Paediatric IT unit in Stoke where after five days there, superb doctors and nurses saved his life.
He was then moved back to Worcester Riverbank HD Unit where there staff carried on the marvellous job towards recovery.
He is now back at home starting the long road to what we hope is a full recovery, being looked after by his parents, backed up by Orchard Nursing plus other back up staff.
So it's a big thank you to all doctors and nurses and personnel at both hospitals. Also many thanks to family and friends for looking after our twin granddaughters during this very stressful time.
NEIL AND ROSE SINNETT,
Pershore.
