SIR - I am sure there are many people in Malvern, too, who will welcome the proposals of the Elgar School of Music chairman of governors (David Wright) and the principal (Donald Hunt) for celebrating the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth next year, recently reported in the Worcester News. Moreover, we have in the English Symphony Orchestra based in Malvern slendid proponents of Elgar's music, which would grace any new concert hall in Worcester!
DENIS STANWORTH,
Chairman of the Committee of the Friends of the ESO.
