FORMER Norwich and Leicester left-back Robert Ullathorne played in Kidderminster Harriers' 2-1 friendly win at Cinderford Town.

But rookie goalkeeper Steve Taylor, signed from AFC Telford, stole the show with two penalty saves, including one in the dying minutes.

Jonny Harkness' free-kick and a Michael McGrath finish after good work from Bob Taylor and Scott Eaton gave Harriers their second-half strikes on Thursday.

Ullathorne, 34, who was at Notts County last season, figured in the first period as did experienced striker Dean Sturridge.

Harriers face Bromsgrove Rovers at the Victoria Ground tomorrow in their next friendly test (1pm).

Rovers have signed old Worcester City favourite, 36-year-old centre-half Carl Heeley, who was at Hinckley last season. Bromsgrove beat Moor Green 1-0 on Thursday with a goal from Nathan Lamey.
