TONIGHT (Friday), a quiz evening takes place at Powick Parish Hall at 7.30pm, doors open 7pm.

Hurry along to Powick's annual fete and car boot being held on the playing field from 2pm tomorrow (Saturday).
All the usual stalls and attractions - live band, belly dancers, children's sports, bouncy castle, games, bottle stall, raffle and barbecue. Lots of bargains in books and bric-a-brac, plus teas, ice cream and beer tent. All proceeds for maintenance of Powick Playing Field Association. Powick School held a very successful summer fete recently, raising £1,700. Last week, the school presented Oliver! to three full audiences at Powick Parish Hall. Tom Busher took the lead part. Yesterday, the annual leavers' service took place at St Peter's Church, Powick.
Next Wednesday (July 26), Powick Parish Ramblers meet at The Three Kings, Hanley Castle at 10am for a five-and-a-half mile walk. The leader is Chris Evans, (01905) 831415. The walk will return to The Three Kings for welcome refreshment.
Thank you to all who supported the grand sale and coffee morning held in Powick Parish Hall on Saturday morning. Final profit is between £300 and £400, in aid of Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter.
Congratulations to The Rev. Mary Nobles, of Byron's Wood, who was ordained as priest at a special service at Worcester Cathedral. She was ordained last year as deacon and is now a priest at St Matthias' Church, Malvern Link where she conducted her first eucharist service on Sunday, July 8.
