Tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday sees the patronal festival of St James', with activities centred around the church in Welland culminating in a service in the evening.
It will be followed by a barbecue and refreshments. Details for this event from Mary Purser, 310289.
Also on Sunday, the car boot starts at noon, as usual. Cars £5, vans/trailers £7, in aid of the Friends of Welland, who are trying to raise funds for a Lychegate at Welland Cemetery, Marlbank Road.
Lastly, a mention for the last weekend of the month, when we see a welcome return of the annual Welland Steam Fair (all the usual stalls and activities going on). This takes place just opposite Danemore Crossroads on the weekend of July 29-30.
