MALVERN suffered another disappointing Worcestershire County League division two defeat against Harborne at Regency Road on Saturday.
MALVERN v HARBORNE
Malvern batted first and enjoyed an excellent start from Adam Dovey and Mark Baugh, who put on 125 for the first wicket before Dovey fell for a fine 54.
Ollie Bendall was in his usual fluent form before being stumped for 24. There were useful little cameos from Jeremy Lee and Dan Besgrove and Baugh completed another unbeaten hundred (including 13 4s, one 6) to leave Malvern on 251-4 from their 50 overs.
Lee and Dovey both bowled superb opening spells with little luck as always seems to be the way, but at 51-3 Malvern were in complete control.
Raj then completely changed the course of the game, finding the boundary with regularity and together with Thompson put together a superb unbroken 200 partnership to give the visitors a seven-wicket win. A remarkable turnaround considering Malvern had dominated the game for most of the afternoon.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Malvern visit Luctonians.
