DISABLED SPORT: SPORTY students from a Kidderminster school gave tag rugby a try as part of a Worcestershire scheme for disabled athletes.
Players from Worcester Warriors Rugby Club stopped off at Stourminster School to pass on their expertise to youngsters.
The pupils took part in different versions of the game, including tag bulldogs, crazy tag and any direction tag, which raised their spatial awareness and taught them evasion techniques.
It was part of a new initiative for 11to 14-year-old disabled youngsters set up by the Warriors and the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS).
The £36,000 project has been fundly by utilities provider npower and the Government's Sportsmatch scheme.
EFDS regional development manager, Dennis Hodgkins, said: "It's an exciting development for disability sport in the Midlands.
"It will give local disabled children opportunities to participate in a sport, which has, up until now, been closed to them."
