AN appeal for old documents that will help piece together Kidderminster's history has made a promising start in generating responses.
Kidderminster Civic Society made the appeal for old property deeds as part of the lottery-funded Historic Kidderminster project.
A public meeting earlier this month attracted nearly 100 people to St Mary's Chantry.
Nigel Gilbert, chairman of the Historic Kidderminster Commitee, was pleased by the early response to the society's deeds appeal, saying: "I was contacted by a couple who had some old Park Street deeds.
"I have been able to look at them and they are most valuable in explaining the development of Park Street by a land club."
He added: "I could mention many streets because, really, we are interested in them all.
"From the point of view of land clubs, we would like to see deeds from streets such as York Street, Lark Hill, Cherry Orchard and New Road but there are many others."
