FOOTBALL: CHADDESLEY Corbett have been forced to to appoint another manager after new boss Mark Foster quit the club before a ball had even been kicked.
Foster had not taken charge of a single match for the West Midlands League Division Two club after succeeding Longmore stalwart Martin Westcott.
But Foster has now been replaced by former Chaddesley and Bridgnorth Town player Gary Moore because he could not commit sufficient time to the football club.
"I've had to pull out of the position because I'm a policeman," said Foster, who lives in the Black Country but has recently been seconded to East Anglia.
"I can't go into the specifics because of the nature of my work, but I couldn't offer the commitment that I wanted to."
Chairman David Yardley praised new manager Moore for stepping in at late notice.
"We're disappointed to see Mark go but it couldn't be helped," he said.
"It's Gary's first job in football management and he sees it as quite a challenge."
l A junior football team hope to pass on some of their silverware-winning success to Chaddesley Corbett after being installed as the club's new feeder team.
Broughton Olympic under-12s have joined forces with Chaddesley after winning the Stourbridge District League and cup double three years in a row.
They also won the Warsash Wasps six-a-side tournament in Hampshire where they had two teams in the final, and were runners-up in the South Staffs Cup and Silverdale 7s tournament.
The link-up came about after Olympic were struggling for a pitch midway through last season and Chaddesley chairman David Yardley let them use their facilities.
"When we met the management team from Broughton we quickly realised this would be beneficial to both parties," said Yardley.
"We are delighted a team who play such high quality football are coming under our banner.
"I would like to think that some of the quality we see now makes it through to our seniors side in a few years time."
Olympic will now be known as Chaddesley Corbett under-13s and will play in the Stourport Youth League at Longmore.
Head coach Lee Austin has welcomed the link-up, adding: "The Stourport Boys League will offer us some strong competition against teams who play attractive football, it will be exactly what our boys need, a fresh challenge."
They also have a new sponsor, LeeMoore Engineering, who have helped fund new kits and training equipment.
The team played with just 12 players last season because of an injury to midfielder Kieron Austin and they are now looking for new players.
