A KIDDERMINSTER road has been closed for a week so emergency cable repair work can be carried out.
Central Networks started the work on Tuesday, leading to the closure of Goldthorn Road as they worked on an underground cable fault at its junction with Stourport Road.
Mike Lamming, project manager with Central Networks, the electricity distribution company for central England, said: "This work is absolutely necessary to ensure that we maintain a reliable electricity supply for the area.
"We apologise for the inconvenience to road users but I can assure local people that we're working very closely with the police and the Higheays Authority to ensure we can keep traffic disruption to a minimum."
