AFTER a highly successful spring season, the Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury, has announced its schedule of shows for the coming weeks.

On Saturday, July 29 The Best Musicals Ever starring The Westenderscomes comes to town. Conceived in a dressing room of The Palace Theatre, London, the show includes songs from Joseph, Miss Saigon and Evita to name but a few.

If you fancy tapping your toes and singing along to wartime songs, then Forces Sweethearts is the show to see on Saturday, August 5. With songs from Vera Lynn, Jessie Matthews and The Andrews Sisters the evening is full of fun and frolics.

Saturday, August 12 sees the hit show Forever in Blue Jeans roll into town. The show includes a cast of ten singers, dancers and musicians and more comedy than you can shake a stick at.

With tributes to 50s favourites Lonnie Donogan and Bill Hayley plus a treat from the 60s, along with hits from today, the show really is a treat for all the family.

Abba Magic's debut to the town, is a treat for all true Abba fans. With all the usual songs, plus a few added extras to prove another first class evening on Saturday, August 19.

Also on offer at The Roses Theatre is a busy programme just for kids. On Wednesday, August 2 sees The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse come to Tewkesbury. A tale of two very different mice, is an insight for children into the lives of different people in different situations.

Then on August 10 the classic children's tale, Peter and the Wolf. The story, told with the use of mime, puppets, storytelling and live music, keeps the children enthralled as they become involved in the show.

The Surprise Birthday Party, performed by the widely renowned Mr Men and Little Miss is to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the famous characters. Children will love seeing their favourite characters live on stage, while parents will take a trip down memory lane. After all, everyone has a favourite Mr Man or Little Miss.
