WHILE Evesham's senior players were having an off day at Bridgnorth, there were winning draws for the second and third teams and a last-ball thriller for the fourths.
The second string recovered from a bad start to post an impressive 253-7 at home to Division three table toppers Beacon who were happy to bat out a draw at 114-4.
Six wickets were lost with just 60 runs on the board until Gareth Howman joined 15-year-old Sam Cheshire at the crease.
The pair embarked on a fabulous rescue act with Cheshire finishing unbeaten on 100 and Howman scoring 66.
The results leaves the Avon Street side six points behind Saturday's visitors in second place in the table.
The third team rattled up 267-7 against Halesowen with Tom Paul leading the way with 91.
The hosts replied with 177-7 but the points gained lifted Evesham up to third in the table just two points behind their weekend hosts County League Division Six.
Andy Milner hit a half-century as the fourth team set Astwood Bank Twos 191 for victory - a target they achieved off the last ball with two wickets in hand.
