EVESHAM Cricket Club won the South Worcestershire Under-16 competition with a convincing Twenty/20 win over Worcester OEs at Pershore last Sunday and will now go forward to the finals of the ECB Midlands competition.
There's batting right down the order and many of the team have Birmingham League experience with the club's senior sides.
The early loss of Marcus Humpston was shrugged off as skipper Henry Newman piled on the runs with Chris Jones.
Sam Cheshire, fresh from his century for the seconds the previous day, then weighed in with a quick half-century to take the Evesham boys to 157-5 off 20 overs.
Once OE's best batsman had departed to a fine catch by James Crenan, the Worcester side never looked in contention and folded to 112 all out.
Crenan took 4-18 and there were wickets for off-spinner Dan Sproul, leg-spinner Jamie Anderson and the persevering Luke Fisher.
