A TOP 10 list of highways nightmares has been compiled by a Kiddermin-ster councillor in a bid to stamp out traffic flow problems and prevent accidents.

Councillor Marcus Hart, who represents the St John's ward on Worcestershire County Council, has been asked by the authority's highways department to state his priorities in the area.

He is also urging residents to get in touch with him if they would like to air their concerns.

Among his list of areas to be improved in the ward is the junction of Sutton Park Road and Crestwood Avenue, where the two meet Bewdley Hill.

He would also like to see a right hand filter lane at the bottom of Bewdley Hill and accident reduction measures implemented on the A456 from the direction of Bewdley into Kidderminster.

Mr Hart, who also serves on Wyre Forest District Council said: "There are many issues that still need to be addressed in respect of the A456 and I will do all that I can to make the case for local residents.

"Not only is this road very congested at times, I am sure it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured on this stretch of road."

All county councillors have been asked to submit a list of what they deem to be priority cases in their area. It is also an opportunity for residents' views to be aired and for them to be submitted to the authority.

Mr Hart added: "I welcome the opportunity to raise the concerns of residents within my area.

"I think that highway problems are always a major issue with residents and I am sure many feel their concerns fall on deaf ears. I hope that I am able to raise those concerns and that something can be done."

Anyone wishing to put forward their views to Mr Hart can contact him on 01562 851145.

Mike Oborski, a Liberal member of Worcestershire County Council, has also submitted a list of traffic issues to be addressed in his St Chad's division.
