EVESHAM police are appealing for witnesses after a youth assaulted a man in Port Street last Wednesday at 7.40pm.
The youth initially approached the victim and asked him for a cigarette. He then went onto verbally abuse the man before punching him three times, although the victim did not require medical treatment.
The attacker is described as a white youth aged between 15 and 16, 5ft 8inches tall of medium to small build with short blond hair. He was wearing a white-sleeved ski-jacket.
Spokesman for West Mercia police Richard Bull said: "We believe there would have been a number of people around at the time and are hopeful that someone will come forward with useful information leading to this youth being identified and brought to justice."
Witnesses should call police on 08457 444 888.
