ARTISTS and crafts people who have banded together under an umbrella organisation have their work on show in Kidderminster until early next month.

Wyre Forest Arts Forum Showcase 2006 runs in Kidderminster Library until Saturday, August 5, highlighting art forms ranging from painting to photography and including textiles and caricature.

Held every two years, the showcase enables the group's 100 members to display their talents.

Judith Price, the forum's secretary, said the event had "something for everybody", adding: "It's celebrating the arts in Wyre Forest.

"It's quite a broad picture of artistic activity in the area and it gives an amateur painter the chance to exhibit alongside some professional painters. It's a very broad spectrum.

"It's a chance for everybody to come along and see what's going on in the district."

On Saturday, July 29 and Saturday, August 5, there will be demonstrations of painting, lacemaking, film, cord winding and jewellery, with Artists in Action.

A puppet making workshop, run by Butterfly Puppet Theatre, will be held between 10.30am and 12.30pm on July 29. Booking is essential. Ring 01562 751101.

On Saturday, August 5, Kidderminster Valentines will perform in the library gallery.
