JOYCE Gray enjoyed a successful month by winning the Ombersley Golf Club's LGU June medal tournament with a nett score of 69.
Gray was followed by Julia Davis (70) in second, while Sue Vinney pipped Andy Wright to third because of a better back nine score, after they had both hit rounds of 72.
Gray was part of the winning team in a three ball alliance event, which was held at Puckrup Hall. Althea Rannie and Todd Fisher were in the team that came second.
In the Samantha's Trophy event Sue Griffiths came out victorious with a score off 44, followed by Lyn Mamos in second on 41 points and Margaret Leatherby in third place after hitting 40.
Leatherby won the Box Telematics Trophy with a score of 45. She pipped Anne Burt to the trophy because of a better back nine score, while Gray finished the event on 43.
Tony Tilly and Pauline Perry won the Roy Crowe Mixed Pairs Trophy, followed by John Wood and Helene Beardsall in second and David Montgomery and Judy Cahill in third.
Audrey Cook and Andrew Mawby won the Tim and Mandy Pit Trophy. Denny Forster and Bernard Gray were runners-up in the event, while Olive Devitt and Tony Golden finished third.
Forster also had one of the highlights of the tournament by hitting a hole-in-one.
In June Ombersley enjoyed some good team results, beating Habberley 4-0, losing 2.5-1.5 to Wharton Park, beating Leominster 5-0 and drawing 2-2 away at Little Lakes.
In the Droitwich Interclub League Ombersley defeated The Worcestershire 3-2, lost 4-1 away at Hagley and lost 2.5-1.5 to King's Norton.
Althea Rannie was successful at The Vale course to win a place in the next round of the Glenmuir Captain's Challenge.
Sally Wilkinson, Lynn Mamos, Andy Wright and Anne Burt came second in the Churchill and Blakedown open.
