MANAGER Rod Brown will take advantage of first choice goalkeeper Tim Clarke's absence to have a look at the fitness of former Bromsgrove Rovers player Chris Taylor in Thursday night's pre-season friendly against Moor Green at the Victoria Ground.
Taylor, who last played for Rovers in the 2002/2003 season, has been brought in for a trial and is set to start between the sticks for Rovers.
He has been drafted in after the Bromsgrove manager decided not to stick with Stourport Swifts goalkeeper Craig Ladek, who played in the second half during Saturday's win over Hednesford.
Clarke misses the next two friendlies because he is on holiday.
Brown is still weighing up his options for a second goalkeeper and the experienced former Stevenage Borough and Evesham United stopper may be the ideal solution.
Rookie goalkeeper Dean Coleman is also set to play some part in the Moor Green game and Sunday's derby against Kidderminster Harriers.
The former Halesowen custodian had been training with Crewe but he picked up an injury while playing for Halesowen in the 4-0 defeat to Walsall last week.
Brown said: "Chris is an experienced goalkeeper and these games are just to have a look at him. Dean has played a lot of games but he's very young."
The Rovers boss is also going to have a look at Worcester City defender Paul Carty in the game against Moor Green, after deciding not to keep trialist Paul Lloyd in the squad. Lloyd, who played for Rovers in the 2001/2002 season, came on as a second half substitute on Saturday.
Carty played for Rovers when the club was enjoying the glory years in the Conference.
l Rovers' game at home to Moor Green kicks off at 7.45pm, while Sunday's match at home to Kidderminster Harriers starts at 1pm.
