Brockencote WI enjoyed a visit to the historic docks of Gloucester.
Members enjoyed a boat trip along the canal, visits to the cathedral, museums, craft shops and various other dockside attractions. Some members also benefited from a little retail therapy in the city centre. All agreed that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable day out, and thanked Mrs C Jordan for her organisation of the trip. Forthcoming events include a salmon lunch on August 16 at the home of Mrs J Miller and a visit to Hartlebury Castle by Queen Elizabeth I this Friday. Further details of all these events are available from the committee.
Anyone who is interested in joining us at a friendly afternoon WI should come along to our next meeting at Chaddesley Corbett village hall at 2pm today (Wednesday) when the subject will be life in the Middle East by Joy Gammon. The competition will be a souvenir of the middle east.
We look forward to meeting all existing members and any visitors and prospective new members.
