A MOTHER of three from Alcester has described the "horrendous" conditions she and her family are living in while they wait to be re-housed.
And she claims her partner, herself and one child had all been hurt when falling through the floorboards.
Deborah Harrison says the South Warwickshire Housing Association house in Rope Walk they have lived in for the past two-and-a-half years is not acceptable.
Problems in the house include dry-rot in the floorboards, a water leak in the kitchen which is bringing the plaster off and plaster also coming away on the hall stairs and landing.
The 38 year old said: "It's quite difficult to live in here as even the carpets have all had to come up because of the state of the floors."
Ms Harrison has lodged a formal complaint with the housing association because of the problems and the time it is taking them to find suitable accommodation.
"It's horrendous but they are saying they can't do anything with us until they find a house.
''They are trying to temporarily re-house us but can't find anything suitable," she added.
Ms Harrison, whose children are aged between two-11, said the family had been offered a first-floor flat but they were unable to take it up as her partner's son was disabled and visited a number of times a week, which would not be suitable for access. They also have two cats.
A care manager who works in Redditch, Ms Harrison said she needed to be somewhere that was suitable for her children's schools, childminders and her place of work while the extensive work that needs doing to the property is carried out.
Housing association executive director Dawn Lang said they were aware of the problem in June and had carried out an inspection.
"Arrangements are being made for the works to be carried out as soon as possible,'' she added.
''The health, wellbeing and safety of our residents is always our priority. We are taking steps to ensure the family's safety."
