SIR - Let me assure your correspondent N M Dunkley that I frequently disagree with D E Margrett and we have crossed swords on several occasions. Often I have the impression that he is writing tongue-in-cheek. I know him personally and regularly see him in the parade on Remembrance Sunday. The medals he displays on such occasions should adequately answer Mr Dunkley's concluding question.

JOHN HINTON,

Worcester.
