SIR - Yet another story in the Worcester News about the bullyboy tactics of the clampers. The legislation that was designed to help protect people as been turned against them with the clampers putting ridiculous charges and taking their vehicles and holding people to ransom. These companies appear to be setting up scenarios to cause the most distress and extort the most money they can, all claiming the protection of the law .

In my own ward, The Arboretum, the residents have been subjected to an intolerable amount of anti-social behaviour abuse and bullying from a group of people who all claim the protection of the law. I have had to persuade the residents not to take the law into their own hands but follow due processes - but the clampers can do what no other group can do legitimately. I suspect that if we could get clampers to tow away certain anti social elements and only release them when they had claimed an extorionate fee then the residents would be well pleased to see the back of them.

However, the rules ony appear to apply to ceratin sections, so let's claim the streets back for common sense and have laws that protect all.
