PUT on the platforms and dig out your flares as Saturday Night Fever hits the Everyman Theatre.

The Bee Gees' smash-hit musical is strutting into Cheltenham for two weeks of hot-stepping, glitter-ball spinning action.

It boasts 12 Top 10 Bee Gees disco classics, including Stayin' Alive, Night Fever, How Deep is Your Love, You Should Be Dancing, If I Can't Have You, Tragedy, Disco Inferno and Jive Talkin'.

It also has more than 30 of the country's hottest young performers, including the winner of Channel 4's Musicality, Rebecca Dent.

Set in New York, Saturday Night Fever tells the story of an ambitious, talented and streetwise Brooklyn kid with the desire to make it big. Tony Manero is a paint store clerk by day, but after dark he becomes the polyester-clad king of the local nightclub.

Every Saturday night he proves he can walk the walk, talk the talk and most definitely strut his stuff.

When the lights snap on at the end of the night and the real world returns, Tony and his disco-obsessed friends must face the sometimes harsh truth of growing up in the tough urban jungle.

The 1977 film version was a massive hit, starring John Travolta.

Saturday Night Fever at the Everyman until Saturday, July 22. Ticket details from on 01242 572573 or www.everymantheatre. org.uk.
