MISS Worcestershire has missed out on victory in this year's Miss England competition and seems set to turn her back on beauty shows.

Twenty-year-old Selina-Nicole Lavictoire was up against 68 girls from across the country in the Miss England challenge, the final of which was held at the Athena Arena in Leicester on Friday. She said: "I spent two days rehearsing and then it was literally about five minutes on stage so it was very brief.

"I didn't have any expectations really but the highlight for me was meeting girls from across the country and making new friends.

"I'm kind of hoping to get back to reality for a bit because it was really stressful. In reality it's not really that glamorous as it's a lot of hard work and really tiring so I don't think I'd do it again."

The St John's student, currently studying visual communications at Birmingham University, was representing the county in the Midlands group after being crowned Miss Worcestershire in May.

Contestants had to walk on stage in a cocktail dress in front of an audience of about 500 before changing into an evening gown and returning back on stage.

Nicole lost out to Miss Leicester and Miss Derby who were named winners in the Midlands group before Miss Oxford went on to win the whole competition.
