FORMER Bristol Rovers youngster Mark Preece was among a string of trialists fielded in Kidderminster Harriers' first pre-season friendly.

Harriers made 10 half-time changes as they beat Southern League Premier Division outfit Gloucester City 5-1 with goals coming from Russ Penn, Simon Russell, Scott Eaton, Brian Smikle and Luke Reynolds.

Centre-half Preece, 19, who made a great impression at Gloucester on loan last season, played along with ex-Boston United right-back Ashley Edkins and former Wolves youth teamer Jordan Fitzpatrick.

Midfielder Stuart Sinclair, released by Luton, one-time West Brom winger Smikle and last season's Harriers youth teamers Ashley Walker and Eaton also featured.

Former Derby County and Wolves striker Dean Sturr-idge, a big summer signing, came on for the last 23 minutes.
