BADSEY SOCIETY: Treasurer Terry Sparrow handed over a cheque for £75 this week to Mike Lovatt, who accepted it on behalf of the group who are organising the Aldington fete on Saturday, August 12. The money was the profit made from the Aldington walk DVD, and as agreed by the society, was to be re-invested in Aldington. Society secretary Maureen Spinks will get twice the exhibition space at this year's Badsey Flower Show on July 22, when the society pitch their new gazebo. Maureen will be displaying details on the history of the parishes roads and houses, the latest phase of the Enclosure Map project. The society has released more details of its Badsey Village Walk on Friday, August 4. The walk, which starts outside 4 High Street, Badsey at 7pm, will include visits to the Manor House, the blacksmith's forge, the church, and a market gardener's brick hovel. The walk will end with refreshments at 36 Brewers Lane, Badsey, courtesy of Terry and Sandra Sparrow.
