WEDNESDAY CLUB: Members met on July 5 when Mrs M Boath presided. Good wishes were sent for a speedy recovery to Doreen Wetton and Mrs Pat Robinson both on the sick list. Joan Bartruche who had taken part in the Race for Life in Evesham thanked the members for their kind support to help the Cancer Research UK and she was also congratulated for a wonderful effort. Marlene Emms was welcomed as a new member and it is hoped she will enjoy the club.
The programme for the afternoon was a very informative talk by Bob James on behalf of Operation Christmas Child. Shoe boxes filled with goodies are sent to deprived children in foreign countries and how we can all help to give a little happiness to their lives. Anne Innes gave the vote of thanks. Cakes for tea were given by Mrs Hall, Mrs Badham and Mrs Edkins. Tea was served by Mrs Neal and helpers and a donation of tea was received from Mrs Pat Robinson.
