SIR - I read with interest the view by George Hudson. We at CHRISS have appreciated all along that many other groups use the school building for various functions.
One point I would like to make though is that Sainsburys could start building soon if the city council was to compulsory purchase the land that the county council owns where its highways department used to reside opposite the fishing tackle shop.
If they did this it would remove much of the uncertainty with regard to the school because Tesco (which we believe is pulling the strings at the county) would not be able to build another store in the vacinity.
