CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved with the wonderful array of flowers that greeted everyone at the flower festival at Hollybush last weekend.
I know there are many that are probably feeling tired after all their efforts, but what a feeling of contentment you must all have.
Visitors came from far and wide and were entranced by the many exhibits. Our flower arrangers came from Hereford, Malvern, Corse Lawn, Castlemorton, Ross-on-Wye, Berrow, Birtsmorton, Bromsberrow and Hollybush.
Many visitors also wandered round our well-tended churchyard and then meandered up the road to partake of home-made cakes and scones and a refreshing cuppa or two in Shirley's beautiful cottage garden. A dream of an old-fashioned traditional weekend culminating in songs of praise led by our vicar, The Rev. Mike Rogers, with a congregation of 55.
The total raised was £1,000 which will be used for our church porch renovations. Should you wish to make a donation and were unable to attend the flower festival last weekend, just call (01531) 650346, every little helps. Jolly well done to all. A superb effort. Don't forget the annual church fete in September.
