A MALVERN school threatened with closure a few months ago has won a top award.
Malvern Hills Primary School won a Leading Aspect Award at a ceremony in Leamington Spa.
The school is being recognised for its Forest School scheme, which encourages children of all ages and abilities to take part in a range of outdoor activities.
Headteacher Andy Chilman said the Forest School idea was developed in Scandinavia after the Second World War.
"We're lucky to have an area of mixed woodland in the school grounds, which we have developed as a Forest School," he said.
The Leading Aspect Awards were set up to encourage schools to share good ideas about how to improve children's education.
