FIVE former MG Rover workers from Worcestershire have been doing the spadework for a year to steer their careers in a new direction.
The men, who were made redundant when the car company collapsed, are now budding horticulturalists after gaining a National Certificate in Horticulture at Pershore College.
Two from Worcester - Chris Tustin, who had been a forklift truck driver, and Graham Murray, who worked in the design department at Rover - are now setting up a garden maintenance business in the city.
Course tutor Louise Badham said: "They all passed with a credit or distinction. They were great. Coming back to full-time education, they did not know what to expect but they really embraced everything to do with the college. I am very proud of them. They were left without jobs and they really pulled themselves around."
