COLWALL fourths and Harborne succeeded in producing both a high-scoring and exciting WCL division seven game on a wicket which offered the bowlers help.
HARBORNE v COLWALL IV
Asked to bat, Colwall's Tim Ward and Rory Jones added 72 before Ward was undone by the wicket. Jones followed shortly after to a delivery the kept low allowing Simon Harwood and Tim Riley to add 90 runs in the next 12 overs.
Harwood became the third Colwall player to be bowled in the 30s allowing Chris Kendall to join Riley in the final assault on a declaration target.
Leaving the opposition 51 overs to make 233 to win Colwall were confident.
A sedate opening partnership was broken by Foxall in the tenth over with Ward, the keeper making a fine catch. John Ditchburn struck first ball to give Ward a second catch.
With the third-wicket partnership having put on 70 Colwall made a breakthrough with Myron Lawrence taking a catch from his son's bowling.
Foxall got through five overs for just 10 runs whilst Bradshaw picked up two wickets, one beautifully caught by Ditchburn at mid-on to dismiss the hard-hitting Bashir for 57. Simon Harwood uprooted Grainger's off-stump for 17 and Colwall had four runs left to take the final wickets.
Unfortunately it was Keogh who had the last laugh, striking a Harwood delivery to the boundary.
