POLICE are looking at CCTV footage after an elderly woman had her handbag snatched from a Redditch shop and later had cash taken from her bank account.
The woman, in her 70s, was in Humphries shoe shop in the Kingfisher Centre on Wednesday, June 21 between 1.10-1.30pm when her black handbag was taken.
It contained a black purse containing cash and bank cards, a driving licence, a gold chain, cheque book and black Nokia 1100 mobile phone.
Pc Adrian Corrigan said: "Our investigations into this incident are on-going and as part of this, we've examined CCTV footage and believe a woman who came into the store as the victim shopped may be involved."
This woman was dark-haired, in her 20s and was wearing a jade coloured top, blue jeans and black shoes. She carried a white shoulder bag with a black pattern on it.
Police believe the same woman used the victim's bank cards later that day to withdraw cash from Lloyds TSB in Chapel Street, Bromsgrove, and the Abbey in High Street, Bromsgrove.
Pc Corrigan said: "Again, we have CCTV images and believe it's the same woman using the stolen cards to withdraw cash.
"She may have arrived in Market Street, Bromsgrove, in a blue car, possibly a Vauxhall Astra or Vectra.
"We're appealing to anyone who recalls seeing her in Humphries, in the Kingfisher Centre or near the Bromsgrove banks to call us."
Police want to speak to a woman in a bright green T-shirt seen by the Lloyds TSB branch near the time as she may be an important witness.
Anyone with information should call Pc Corrigan on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
