WOODEN flooring will replace worn-out carpets in a Kidderminster church community hall thanks to a lottery grant.
St Peter's Church, Birchen Coppice, is being given £5,000 for the project in the latest round of Awards for All announced by the Big Lottery Fund.
The 6th Kidderminster Franche Scout Group also receives £5,000, to renovate the front entrance to its headquarters in Franche.
Hartlebury Village Hall management committee is another successful bidder for lottery backing, securing £2,600 for a project to carry out a feasibility study into options for improving the hall. The Kidderminster and Hartlebury grants are among a total of £605,868 worth of awards made to 141 schemes across the West Midlands.
