EVESHAM Rowing Club has recently acquired the services of Nigel Hunter to help fulfil the club ambitions and raise standards of tennis in the town.
His appointment as head coach will be just at the right time with extra courts being added as well as refurbishment of the clubhouse.
The new man has a wealth of experience including playing full-time, coaching all levels up to and including international players as well as managing facilities.
He is moving into the area to join the Hereford and Worcester coaching team from Next Generation Club - West Midlands, where he currently has more than 250 juniors playing and a comprehensive programme.
"I see Evesham as a club full of potential and am really excited about being 100 per cent hands on again with a fresh challenge ahead," Hunter declared.
"I have created a good tennis environment at each venue I have been at so far and see this club as no different to my previous roles. I have built my previous success on being specific, working players hard and making sure they are enjoying it. I am confident it won't be long until we start to go places at this club."
Summer Holiday Tennis Camps will take place during weeks commencing August 7 and 14 and they will provide for all players from mini-tennis up to performance players. More details from Nigel on 07810 308283.
The club is also holding a " Play Tennis" evening tomorrow between 5 and 8pm when all are welcome to come and take to the courts for free.
Children and adults of all ages are encouraged to come along, whether you're a budding Wimbledon star or have never picked up a racquet in your life! There will be free coaching, competitions, prizes and refreshments.
