DAVE Powell was a proud father earlier this month when he took to the cricket field alongside his four sons.
Playing in his 34th season at Badsey, dad Dave had played with the teenage quartet in Sunday friendlies but his league bow came as something of surprise.
A late cry-off on the morning of England's World Cup quarter-final clash prompted a phone call home for youngest son Robert to pack his whites and get along to Ballards Park.
There he teamed up with triplets Nicholas, Stephen and Michael and his dad as Badsey prepared for a Worcestershire County League Division Four game.
Chasing a third successive promotion, the boys didn't let Dave down as the villagers earned a winning draw to maintain their promotion push.
All the boys play junior cricket at the club, while Nicholas is a regular in the Worcester-shire Under-15 line-up.
The triplets attend Evesham High School, while Robert is a pupil at Blackminster Middle School.
And, just to ensure that Powell family is represented off the field, mum Carolyn is a regular "volunteer" on the tea rota!
