PLANS to build 14 new homes in Kidderminster were given the seal of approval by planning chiefs this week.
The application for the development, at Sutton Reservoir, in Sutton Park Road, was discussed at Wyre Forest District Council's planning committee meeting on Tuesday.
Plans presented to members included 14 detached homes with detached garages and a proposed roundabout opposite the existing junction with Hazlewood Close.
Councillor Marcus Hart, however, was delighted with the current application.
He said: "I welcome this application. No doubt the committee will remember the previous application, which included no less than 35 homes - including a block of flats - which were deemed not in accordance with the street scene."
He added: "I also welcome the idea of the roundabout near Hazlewood Close to slow the traffic down."
A previous application, which included 35 homes, was refused last December.
The apartment block with associated parking no longer formed part of the current application.
It was, therefore, approved, subject to a financial contribution being made towards education in the area.
Funds are also set to be contributed towards improving two junctions at Bewdley Hill.
